Established on April 1, 1999, the Gibsons Economic Development Partnership (GEDP) provides leadership and support in the process of community-based, sustainable business development within the Town of Gibsons.

As a founding partner in the larger Sunshine Coast Community Development Partnership, the GEDP also endeavours to overcome historical and physical separations with our neighbouring communities, and participate in a coordinated effort to build a stronger economic base for the region.

An Innovative Model

The GEDP is based on a unique model that not only promotes an effective use of resources, but also encourages involvement from all sectors in our community. As a partnership, we provide a structure in which businesses of all sizes; non-profits; environmental, labour, educational, arts and cultural, social / healthcare, service and neighbourhood organizations; financial institutions; and the three levels of government work together toward a prosperous future.

Current partners include Town of Gibsons, Community Futures Development Corporation - Sunshine Coast, Gibsons Landing Business Association, Gibsons and District Chamber of Commerce, the Sunshine Coast Labour Council, and the Gibsons Harbour Authority.
